She is probably brown because she has no uvb/a light source. She turns green when you hold her because of the warmth of you body. Oh and did you get those sticks and grasses from outside or did you buy them.

If you got those from outside i suggest you boil them at 350 degrees to get rid of bad bacteria and germs.

I dont know about baking? Is grass safe to bake? You should really check before you bake anything brcause a fire might start.

Don't boil twigs and give up on the grass. Bake your twigs at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Boiling is really only good for rocks.
Your anoles will live without uva/uvb rays. Now the questions is will they be healthy? Most likely no. There is so much they need from uva/uvb rays that if they live without it they can get dieases, don't eat rite and are stressed. But yes they will live.

Well you will need a light hood (around 25-70 dollars) then the bulb is around 24 dollars I think. Repti-sun 5.0 is the best. You can always order online and get a light hood for 20 and a bulb for 16 but you would have to pay for shipping.

My anole was green all the time with out the reptisun..and now stays brown all the time..
Give her time to soak the rays in I guess.
