I am pretty new to keeping anoles hence this message. I removed my female anole and put her into a temporary plastic tank whilst cleaning her viv earlier. When putting the lid onto the temporary tank I managed to drop the small lid (the flap) onto her. It now looks like she may have a small bruise on her back. She is currently brown put the part that I think may be bruised is bright green. Do you think that I could have caused any serious problems or is this something that I need not worry about?

I don't think it fell on her too hard and I managed to catch it as it fell on her before the full weight of it (which is not that much) pressed on her. The 'bruise' seemed to go the next day. She didn't behave any different in any way ;D. I am not sure whether it was a bruise or not (that was the only thing I could liken it to). Anyway she seems happy and healthy now, I think I was just in a panic after I had done it, I didn't want to hurt her.

My son just caught a green anole that has something similar going on. We fixed up a fabulous tank, etc. but have noticed a black spot on along the rib cage on one side. The black spot is pitted - almost like a hole, although we haven't picked her up to really examine it (we want to destress her right now). Anyway, even when the anole is otherwise brown, the area of the "wound" (?) remains bright green. Also, the area surrounding the black mark has a pronounced bulge -as if something is protruding but still under the skin.
Any ideas anyone

My first Anole had a big bruise on the left hand side of her rib cage, i think it happened when the petshop keeper gabbed her for me, unfortunatley she died a couple of days later.... i now have a very healthy Anole which is really fun to watch..lol
